Dear Resident
Here's your latest community update, highlighting some of the work carried out in response to the issues that matter most to local residents.
E-bike seizure Whilst on patrol in Wellingborough town centre, PC Pearson and PCSO Legate carried out a stop and search on two men under the Misuse of Drugs Act, resulting in a quantity of suspected drugs being seized. They also seized an illegal e-scooter helping to tackle anti-social behaviour within the town. If you see us out and about, please feel free to stop and speak with us. Your information and concerns help us target issues that matter most to local residents.
E-bike seizure Following patrols in the Hemmingwell area, PCs Hawkins, Pearson and Unsworth seized an e-bike being ridden along a footpath. The rider was reported for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and for having no insurance. Neighbourhood officers continue to target the illegal use of E-bikes and other vehicles across our communities. These vehicles can pose a significant risk to pedestrians and other road users when used unlawfully, and we will continue to take positive action where offences are identified.
Taking positive action PCSO Seabrook and PC Pearson have been working alongside colleagues from the local council to take positive action boarding up more addresses following concerns raised by local residents about anti-social behaviour, drug use and wider issues linked to a vacant property in Wellingborough. As part of this joint effort, the property has now been boarded up and secured, helping to prevent further unauthorised access and address the ongoing concerns being experienced by the local community.
Community events In July, officers from your neighbourhood team attended an annual summer celebration event with the Kenyan community, alongside community engagement officers and Deputy Police Fire and Crime Commissioner Marianne Kimani.
